TGIFFF - Thank Goodness It's Fish Fry Friday

Friday is a good day to begin with, but they go to another level of joy in Wisconsin! That is because Friday means Fish Fry Day! That’s right, what might be a seasonal or religious experience for some, is a year-round, weekly staple in Wisconsin. So, when in the Kenosha area, where does one go to get their fins on a fantastic Fish Fry on a Friday night? Well, look no further because here is a list of all things fishy:

Where To Go For Fish

Big Star Drive-In – While only open March – August, Big Star Drive-In offers a Friday Fish Fry that is quite popular. Their fish sandwich is always available, as well. 

*Boat House Dockside Pub & Eatery – The Boat House offers a Fish Fry every day, so lucky you! Beer Battered Cod, Walleye, and Shrimp are available, along with a Potato Flake Perch, Broiled Cod and fry combo! Other great seafood options are also on the menu daily.

Brat Stop – The English Dish Fish and Chips offers a choice of battered and fried Cod or Walleye, broiled Walleye or baked Cod served with a potato choice, coleslaw, and rye bread.

Bristol 45 Diner – The Fish Fry includes a choice of Cod, Walleye, or Lake Perch. Soup or salad, choice of potato, vegetables, and coleslaw come on the side. There is also an option for a Family 10 Piece Fish Fry To-Go with coleslaw and French fries.

Century Pub & Eatery – Beer-battered or baked Walleye, Perch or Cod served with a choice of potato and coleslaw. Generous portions at reasonable prices are of note at this locally owned venue. 

*Fin and Ale – A staple for delicious fish dinners year-round, Fin and Ale serves fish fry all day, everyday. It comes with coleslaw and rye bread, plus a choice of side. Options include hand-breaded perch, hand-breaded walleye, hand-breaded shrimp, or a perch & walleye combo. The menu also boasts a Perch Buster sandwich.

HobNob Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge – In addition to Supper Club classics, seafood and Fish Fry stand out at HobNob. Choose from their beer-battered Cod dinner served with their house tartar sauce, a baked Cod dinner served with drawn butter or a Walleye Pike dinner, almond-encrusted and deep-fried. All options include soup, salad, potato, and warm dinner rolls.

House of Gerhard – This Supper Club has been serving up family recipes for three generations. In addition to their other daily specials, you can find a Friday Fish Fry at House of Gerhard every Friday of the year. It’s served with their homemade potato pancakes!

Infusino’s Pizzeria – In addition to their famous pizzas and pastas, Infusino’s offers breaded Atlantic Cod and breaded Lake Perch dinners on Friday nights.

Italian American Supper Club – Love a good Fish Fry?  Join the club!  (But seriously, no club membership required – all are welcome!)  Order take-out or dine-in and enjoy Cod made with a beer-battered and deep fried along with some pasta, baked potato, or fries.  It’s the best combination of Italy and America all on one plate!

Johnny’Z Pour House – If you love pairing a GIGANTIC beer selection and a fun atmosphere with your Friday Fish Fry, then Johnny’Z is your house away from home! On Fridays they have beer-battered North Atlantic Cod on the menu with spuds, house slaw and tartar sauce. If you want to have your Fish Fry in taco form, they have that too! Their second Friday option is Fish Tacos served with a side.  Happy Friday!

Kaiser's Pizza and Pub of Kenosha – Cod and Walleye are featured every Friday with additional fish specials during Lent. Fridays can be for pizza or fish at the popular eatery.

Kenosha Brewing Co. – Pair your Fish Fry with a craft beer. Choose from Atlantic Cod, Perch, Walleye, or Shrimp, served with slaw and a side.

Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen – Grab the house Cod Dinner, only available on Fridays.

*Luisa's Pizza – You can get delicious fish fry any day of the week at Luisa’s. While they are known for their pizza and calzones, their “Any Day” Fish Dinner features three hand-breaded filets served with coleslaw, choice of soup or salad, and choice of side. Served every day, year-round!

*Mason’s Eatery & Pub – The Mason’s Real Fish-n-Chips boasts two North Atlantic Cod filets battered in a Leinenkugel beer batter. Served with waffle chips, and your choice of a cup of soup or a side salad. Nothing says Wisconsin like beer battered food, right?

Our Kenosha Tap – This local pub serves up both baked and fried fish options with all the fixin’s on Fridays.

Public Brewing Company - Public Brewing Company is the first in Kenosha to offer a Vegan Fish Fry every Friday. Their Chef has created a recipe using beer-battered and fried hearts of palm and nori with seafood seasoning and it's served with vegan coleslaw, a lemon wedge, and vegan tartar sauce with your choice of French fries or potato pancakes with applesauce. A traditional cod fish fry basket is also available and comes with two pieces of beer-battered cod served with French fries or potato pancakes with apple sauce, creamy coleslaw, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. 

*Ron’s Place – Ron’s Fish Fry is available on Wednesdays and Fridays!  Their Walleye sandwich is served with tartar sauce, coleslaw, and French fries.  They also have a Walleye dinner which includes two pieces of hand-breaded Walleye served with French fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce and bread.

Sturino’s – From a clam & fettuccine dinner to fried Lake Perch or Shrimp, you won’t leave hungry on Fridays at Sturino’s.

The 1844 Table & Mash – For a truly upscale Fish Fry experience, you must try the 1844. Located inside The Stella Hotel & Ballroom, you will find an excellent Fish Fry. Usual Fish Fry options are offered in addition to Tilapia, Salmon, Catfish, and a seafood platter. This is a fantastic spot for Friday Fish Fry Date Night!

*The Spot Drive-In – Always available, the Perch Dinner is perfect for Friday Night Fish Fry – or perhaps you’d prefer to try their fried fish sandwich. You don’t even have to wait for Friday to enjoy it. Get it with a side of fries or sweet potato fries. 

Union Park Tavern – The Fish Fry includes creamy coleslaw, Texas-Cut Cardinali’s Italian Bread, and a side choice. Fish options include hand-battered Prime-Cut Cod, hand-battered Walleye Pike, lightly breaded gourmet Lake Perch or lightly breaded, jumbo tail-on shrimp.

*Valeo's Pizza – The Fish Fry is available every day on the dinner menu and features cod, side salad, fries or mojos. Cole slaw, tarter, lemon and dinner roll included. Available in 3 piece or 5 piece dinners.
