Labor Day weekend is seen as the unofficial end of summer – though the calendar says otherwise! If you’re looking for something fun to do over the three-day holiday weekend, here are some ideas:

  1. Southport Light Station MuseumClimb a Lighthouse. The 1866 Southport Lighthouse and its accompanying maritime museum are open Thursday-Sunday.
  2. Experience the Bristol Renaissance Faire. Open Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day Monday - this is the closing weekend.
  3. Take a hike and catch up on your 10,000 steps!
  4. Attend the Uke's Harley-Davidson Hometown Rally, September 1-5.
  5. See lots and lots of classic cars on the streets of Downtown Kenosha. The Kenosha Classic Cruise-In is Saturday, September 3.
  6. Say Cheese! Eat Cheese! Celebrate Cheese! Cheese-A-Palooza returns on Saturday, September 3.
  7. Ride an authentic Electric Streetcar through Downtown Kenosha and along the water.
  8. Browse through the Acrylic International Biennial Exhibition inside the Kenosha Public Museum.
  9. Then browse through the nearby Sculpture Walk in HarborPark along the harbor.
  10. Duck Pedal Boat in Kenosha HarborRent a duck-themed pedal boat, kayak, or stand up paddle board from the Kenosha Community Sailing Center.
  11. Be amazed at a water ski show. The final show of the season for the award-winning Aquanut Water Shows team is Saturday, September 3.
  12. Catch up with friends while dining alfresco.
  13. Lounge at a beach.
  14. Go back in time at the 1860s Durkee Mansion. Part of Kemper Center, the historic mansion is open for self-guided tours on September 3 and 4.
  15. Also go back in time on the Third Avenue Historic District Walking Tour on September 3. Learn about the homes that are in the same neighborhood as Durkee Mansion.
  16. Fore! Enjoy a round of golf or disc golf. There are fabulous courses in the Kenosha Area!
  17. Go fishing! We’ve got the lakes if you’ve got a fishing license!
  18. Kenosha HarborMarketShop at Kenosha HarborMarket on Saturday. Purchase the ingredients for your cookout!
  19. Also shop at Kenosha Public Market on Saturday.
  20. Relax with yoga. Warrior Poet Yoga happens on Saturday, September 3 at Bristol Woods Park and Sunday, September 4 at Kenosha County Veterans Memorial Park.
  21. Spend a Saturday night at the car races. Championship Night is September 3 at Wilmot Raceway, a 3/8-mile clay, semi-banked oval.
  22. Enjoy classic cars on display at Petrifying Springs Park. The Southern Wisconsin All Airborne Annual Car Show to Benefit the Wounded is on Sunday, September 4.
  23. Shop for deals at Wilmot Flea Market at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds on Sunday.
  24. Go axe throwing and ziplining at the same place: Boundless Adventures, an outdoor aerial adventure park.
  25. Head out on your bike. We have more than 130 miles of bike trails in Kenosha County.
