From handmade holiday gifts and festive scents to colorful Christmas lights and a little advice for Santa, Rye is bringing a thoughtful twist to the holiday season in Downtown Kenosha!
What if the perfect holiday gift could make someone smile, support a local business, and be a little kinder to the planet?
That's the kind of holiday magic you'll find at A Little Bit Of All Of It Shop in Downtown Kenosha!
Meet Rye Taylor-Ketchum, the owner and maker behind this locally owned shop, where handmade products, refillable essentials, and thoughtful gifts come together with one simple mission: making sustainable living easier and more accessible for everyone.
What started in 2024 with a few handmade cleaners and body balms has grown into a shop offering everything from personal care products to household essentials and reusable goods.
And with the holidays approaching, Rye is ready to add a little seasonal cheer to the mix!
We caught up with Rye to talk about holiday traditions, thoughtful gifts, Christmas music, and why supporting local businesses means so much to her.

A Little Bit of Everything, With a Whole Lot of Heart!
For someone who's never visited your shop, what makes it special?
"Hi! I'm Rye, the owner and maker behind A Little Bit Of All Of It Shop, Kenosha County's first and only refill shop, located in downtown Kenosha! We're a little bit of a general store. We offer refillable household and personal care essentials, handmade body care, and thoughtfully sourced everyday goods, all with the goal of making sustainable living more accessible, affordable, and a lot less intimidating."
Rye believes that making environmentally conscious choices shouldn't have to be complicated, expensive, or overwhelming.
From refillable cleaners to handmade self-care products, the shop encourages customers to make small changes that can add up over time.
And the best part? You don't have to be an expert in sustainability to walk through the door.
Whether you're bringing in a container for a refill, exploring something new, or simply browsing for a gift, Rye is happy to help you get started.

It's Beginning to Smell a Lot Like Christmas!
How does A Little Bit Of All Of It Shop get into the holiday spirit?
"We get into the holiday spirit by making seasonal scents for products. Pumpkin spice, fir and pine, room spray and carpet fresheners definitely get us in the holiday spirit."
Who doesn't love walking into a space that smells like the holidays?
And because Rye makes many of her products herself, there's something especially meaningful about giving a gift that was created with care right here in the Kenosha community.
What would you recommend for someone looking for a special holiday gift?
"We like to think we have a little bit of something for everyone (it's kind of in the name)!
"If you're shopping for someone who deserves a little extra TLC, our handmade body butters, magnesium creams, balms, and other self-care goodies make wonderful gifts. We also carry thoughtfully sourced everyday essentials and reusable goods for the practical gift-givers out there. Because sometimes the best gift is something someone will actually use!
"For those who prefer experiences over things, we host creative workshops and community gatherings throughout the year."
From stocking stuffers to self-care treats, there's plenty to discover. And for someone who already has everything, a creative workshop could be just the thing!

Even Santa Could Learn a Thing or Two!
We asked Rye what she'd want Santa to know if he stopped by the shop.
Her answer?
"Let's try cloth wrapping paper. The art of Furoshiki!"
For those unfamiliar, Furoshiki is a Japanese tradition of wrapping gifts and other items in reusable fabric.
It's a creative way to make a present look beautiful while reducing the amount of disposable wrapping paper used during the holidays.
And who knows? Maybe Santa could save himself a little cleanup at the North Pole!

Christmas Trees, Colorful Lights & Paul McCartney!
Of course, no Visit Kenosha Holiday Q&A would be complete without a few fun questions!
What's your favorite holiday tradition?
"Decorating the tree!"
Real Christmas tree or artificial?
"Artificial tree all the way baby! Easy for me to keep alive and can put up year after year."
White lights or colorful lights?
"Colorful lights always."
Eggnog or hot chocolate?
"Can I chose apple cider?"
Absolutely, Rye! Apple cider it is!
What holiday movie gets you into the Christmas spirit?
"Are We There Yet? I know it technically New Years, I think, but close enough and it puts me in the holiday spirit."
Hey, if it gets you into the holiday spirit, we say it counts!
You're stuck listening to one holiday song for 24 hours. What's your pick?
"Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney."
Looks like Rye is simply having a wonderful Christmastime!
Keeping the Holidays Local
When friends and family come to Kenosha for the holidays, Rye has one Downtown tradition she especially enjoys sharing.
Where would you take visitors to experience some Kenosha holiday magic?
"The tree decorating and lighting downtown!"
And it's easy to see why.
There's something special about seeing Downtown Kenosha dressed up for the holidays, with local shops, restaurants, and community celebrations bringing people together.
That sense of connection is also at the heart of Rye's business.
Beyond selling handmade and refillable products, Rye believes in building a community where people share resources, support one another, and find practical ways to make a difference.
Through creative workshops and community initiatives such as Free Community Garage Share events, she's helping encourage the idea that useful things deserve a second life and that neighbors can accomplish more by working together.

A Community Worth Celebrating
As 2026 comes to a close, what are you most thankful for?
"I'm most thankful for all the people who have supported my shop and keep coming back! It's so cool to see a community build and grow and to be a part of that is something truly amazing."
That might be the best gift of all: seeing a dream grow into something that brings people together.
And Rye's commitment to community doesn't stop when the holidays are over. She's also joining fellow volunteers and local organizations supporting Ktown Cleanups in 2027, helping bring neighbors together to care for the community they call home.
Shop Small, Give Thoughtfully & Spread a Little Holiday Cheer!
Whether you're searching for a handmade gift, looking to refill your everyday essentials, or curious about making a few more sustainable choices, A Little Bit Of All Of It Shop is worth adding to your Downtown Kenosha shopping plans.
