10,000 Steps Route: PIKE BIKE TRAIL

If a more urban route is what you seek, the Pike Bike Trail is a great option. With miles of Lake Michigan views, this is a great trail for walking and running — not just biking. This section of the 10+ mile trail starts at HarborPark, where sculptures line the Kenosha Harbor. After passing through Wolfenbuttel Park and Eichelman Park, walkers will enter the Third Avenue Historic District where historic homes adorn the path before reaching Southport Park as a turn-around point. This route is completely paved and flat.

Distance: 4.4 miles (round trip) | View Map>

Complete your steps: Continue south past Kemper Center to Southport Park and even further to the Sand Dunes for great hiking along the lake if you want to extend the excursion.

Alternate Route: Start at HarborPark, but work your way north to Simmons Island then to Carthage College where you can walk through campus. Carthage is home to the Mary Alice Moody Arboretum.
