By all accounts, Dave Barton is Kenosha through and through. As General Manager of Kenosha Tap House, he brings not just years of experience in the hospitality industry – but also a deep love for his city and its people.

From East Side Kenosha to the Tap Wall
Dave grew up on Kenosha’s east side near Baker Park, attending Curtis Strange Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School, and Tremper High School. But it was in La Crosse, Wisconsin – while working at Fayze’s Restaurant and Bakery – where he fell in love with the restaurant world.
“Fayze’s was a morning symphony of chatter and sizzle,” Dave says. “The people, the chaos – it was perfect.”
That passion brought him back home, where he spent formative years at Ashling on the Lough. “Those were some of the best years of my personal and professional life,” he reflects.
After marrying his wife Jina in 2014 and raising their two boys – Jack and William (plus their three energetic dogs) – Dave eventually found his way to Kenosha Tap House (where Ashling on the Lough used to be).

A New Kind of Pour
Dave joined the Tap House team in a very Kenosha way – through friends and word of mouth.
“It happened organically,” he says. “I had friends who helped open KTH. After a few months of them trying to convince me, I joined. It’s unique – same building, totally different vibe.”
That vibe is all about energy, variety, and connection.
“Our self-pour wall means you can sample until you find the drink you love,” Dave explains. With over 60 taps of beer, wine, cider, seltzer, and cocktails, the options are constantly rotating – often influenced by customer feedback.
“We’re even dedicating a tap year-round to (Kenosha’s own) Public Brewing,” he adds. “First up: their Key Lime Sour.”

More Than Just Drinks
While the drinks are a draw, the food is a standout. Dave’s top picks? The Bang Bang Shrimp and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries.
And it doesn’t stop there. Live music, DJs, themed nights, and events light up the calendar.
“This summer, we feature musicians from all genres – rock, punk, jazz, classical, country. All music is welcome here.”
The patio? It’s a whole vibe of its own. Think live music every weekend, Saturday vendor markets, and yard games like cornhole and giant Jenga.
“Oh—and we’re dog-friendly!” Dave laughs. “Bring your good boys and girls.”
Giving Back, Staying Local
Kenosha Tap House is deeply rooted in the local scene. Every Wednesday, they host a fundraiser night for local non-profits, schools, and causes, donating 15% of sales.
Add in Trivia Wednesdays and Xtreme Bar Bingo on Thursdays, and the week is always packed with something to do.
What’s Next?
With the new summer menu came change. Longtime head chef Jessica Aragon is off to launch her own food truck – Aragon’s Platos Borrachos.
“She’s incredible,” Dave says. The kitchen is now “in great hands with John Betancourt, who brings his own creativity and passion.”

If it’s your first time at Kenosha Tap House, Dave’s advice is simple:
“Grab a drink, head to the patio, and soak up the sunshine. You’re just a few steps from Southport Marina Playground – perfect for parents who want to relax while still keeping an eye on their kids.”
