Picture Perfect: Painting at Pinot’s Palette

Have you dreamed of creating a great work of art? Ready to challenge your creativity? Need something different to do with family or friends? 

I’ve wanted to try this for a while, so I was very excited when I recruited a friend for a night at Pinot’s Palette. We signed up online for a Friday night class painting “Monet’s Bridge” - how hard could it be?

We arrived early and purchased a glass of wine at the on-site bar. It was fun to look around and see the wide variety of painting projects offered. Instructor Emily was inspiring and encouraging. She told us “Be your own Picasso!” Which was confusing at first since we were painting Monet! We soon learned that’s the company mantra - it was making more sense now! And so nine courageously creative women gathered to show Monet what they got! 

Neither talent nor experience are needed for this art experience. Relax and enjoy the supportive and colorful atmosphere. All your supplies are included - a beautifully blank canvas, paints, brushes, and palette. Step by step instruction is clearly communicated. From mixing colors and layering the paint to signing your work of art, you are guided through the process. Exploring your inner Monet (or Picasso) was encouraged and some painters added their own flowers, stars, and even a moon. Individuality shone through in many of the pieces.

The two-plus hours flew by and sure enough, nine Monet-esque masterpieces emerged. All equally lovely but no two alike, which was a bit surprising. Creating and finishing the painting was energizing and fulfilling. It’s a fun night out with friends or a multigenerational family celebration.
