School supply lists have been sent out, the days are getting shorter, and the Kenosha Kingfish played their last game of the season. This can only mean one thing, the end of summer is unfortunately upon us. However, there is still one event left that is a staple of my family’s summer activities, the Kenosha County Fair! One of my favorite memories growing up was when my parents would take me to the fair every summer. I loved getting funnel cakes, throwing darts at balloons trying to win a piece of carnival glass to hang on my wall and riding the dragon themed rollercoaster (which I thought was the coolest thing ever). Now I get to take those memories and make new ones with my family at the Kenosha County Fair! The Kenosha County Fair starts this week and I am ready to bring the family and see all that the fair has to offer this year.

WHEN & WHERE
The 2026 Kenosha County Fair runs August 19 - August 23 at the Kenosha County Fair Grounds. The fair will be open Wednesday - Saturday, 8:00 am to midnight and Sunday, 8:00 am - 7:00 pm. Skip the lines at the fair and purchase your tickets online! Did you know, the fair offers a Season Pass and a Lifetime Pass? Both great options if you are an avid fair goer!
DAILY ACTIVITIES
The 2026 Kenosha County Fair has some great daily activities that are suitable for the entire family. The Milwaukee Flyers, Bear Hollow Wood Carvers, Fun on the Run Animal Racing and the Wild World of Animals are just a few of the exciting activities that the fair has planned. CREEKSIDE STAGE
Looking for live music while you are at the fair? The Creekside Stage has an awesome line up that includes, Julia Neville, Royal Bliss, Bootjack Road, Doo Wop Jukebox and Class of 62. These are just a couple of the headliners this year. The Creekside Stage will also serve as the stage for the crowning of the 2027 Kenosha Fairest of the Fair, on Saturday at 10:30 am.

GRANDSTAND EVENTS
A fair isn’t a fair without the Demolition Derby. When I was growing up, this was my mom’s favorite event! She would look forward to seeing this every year. This year the fair will have the Demo Derby with fireworks right after! Some other grandstand events to check out include the antique tractor parade, the Kenosha County Fair races and the Badger Truck & Tractor Pulls.

CHILDREN'S SCAVENGER HUNT & OTHER ACTIVITIES
On Thursday, August 20, children ages 3-12 can participate in a scavenger hunt at 10:00 am starting at the ticket gates. Children will get a clue sheet, they can follow the clues, and get their stamp sheet stamped at each building/barn. Once they have completed the scavenger hunt they will receive a “goodie bag”! The activity ends at 2:30 pm so you have plenty of time to enjoy the fair. Have trouble figuring out a clue? Don’t be afraid to ask for help at one of the stops!
On Sunday, August 23, the fair will also host cookies and crowns in the tent south of the poultry barn. Head over to the tent to decorate crowns and sashes with the Fair Royalty and other past/present royalty. Fair goers can decorate a crown, sash and a cookie! After you have completed all of the decorating, a photo opportunity will be available to snap a picture with the official royalty present.
The fair will also have a pedal tractor pull for kids ages 5-16, hay bale throwing and a children’s parade. With all of the activities and events that the fair has planned this year, you are sure to have a full day of fun!
FOOD OF THE FAIR
The fair always has food that I look forward to every year. My top Kenosha County fair food, a healthy serving of cheese curds! I also love getting an ice cold lemonade to wash them down. It’s the perfect combo on a hot summer day! I also tend to get a sweet tooth whenever I am at the fair. It’s hard not to, with so many different options for sweets! Ice cream, Cotton candy, deep fried Oreos and more.

With the upcoming five days of the fair, any day you choose to attend you will find some great entertainment, activities and food. There is so much to do, you will want to come back for multiple days (that’s where that season pass ticket is a great value)! The Kenosha County Fair website has all of the schedule information for you to plan your visit ahead of time, including a map of the fair. Kenosha County Fair Website.
Fall will be coming soon, enjoy your last days of summer with a trip to the 2026 Kenosha County Fair.
