Kenosha Restaurant Week starts February 21; with over 80 participating restaurants and food & beverage shops there are a lot of great dining options for the week. The Grease & Honey restaurant group has four participating restaurants that offer different dining experiences. From breakfast to fine dining, they have it all! I dined at all four of their restaurants and sampled a few of the dishes they will have available during Restaurant Week. I have been to The Garage several times, but I was excited to try the other three restaurants for the first time. All four of the Grease & Honey restaurants provided exceptional food and great service and I will definitely be visiting them again.
Breakfast at The Buzz Café
Located at 5621 6th Avenue, this café has a breakfast menu that includes homemade pastries, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and coffee! They are a great local café to grab a morning coffee or a breakfast sandwich before starting your day.
During Restaurant Week they will be offering a breakfast special that includes one sandwich and one beverage. This was my first time visiting the Buzz so I ordered the bacon and egg sandwich and a cinnamon roll. The bacon and egg sandwich included bacon, egg, cheddar cheese, avocado aioli and was on an everything bagel. This was a well balanced breakfast sandwich with the perfect amount of seasoning from the bagel and the flavor of the aioli. This was the perfect sandwich to start the day!
The cinnamon roll was a good size and was warm, sweet, and iced to perfection. They had numerous different pastry options available, including several vegan options. This is a great spot to grab a breakfast before work, or bring the kids on a weekend morning to have a cinnamon roll and play a game from their collection of board and card games. If you don’t make it in for breakfast they are also offering a lunch special that includes a sandwich, beverage, and chips.

Brunch at Sazzy B
Sazzy B is located at 5623 6th Avenue, right next to The Buzz Café. On Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm they offer a brunch menu with both savory and sweet dining options as well as an extensive cocktail menu.
The Restaurant Week special menu includes a couple of different options that were hard to choose from, but I knew I wanted to try the cinnabon pancakes. The pancakes were topped with a cream cheese icing that was not overly sweet, but was well balanced with both the pancake and the spice on top. The special also comes with your choice of a drip coffee, hot tea, house bloody mary, traditional mimosa or soft drink.
My husband tried their house bloody mary while I tried the Scarlet Sunrise Mimosa which was made with pomegranate juice, vanilla, and brut. Both drinks were made well and the customer service was great. The bar was busy at the time we went; but the bartender was very attentive and everything we ordered came out quickly. This is a great local spot to have a couple cocktails with friends before exploring the downtown area on a weekend. Sazzy B will also be offering a three course dinner special as well that includes different entree options.

Lunch at The Garage Sports & Burger Bar
Located at 3001 60th Street in Kenosha, The Garage has some amazing burgers! I have been going to the garage for years and it is my favorite place to get a burger in Kenosha! You can build your own burger or order from one of their burgers on the menu. They also have a Burger of the Week as well, which is part of their Restaurant Week specials. They will normally announce the Burger of the Week on Mondays and are always topped with amazing ingredients.
During my visit, the burger of the week special was a burger stuffed with jalapenos and mozzarella cheese, topped with chorizo, fries, nacho cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream. My go to burger is always the greasy garage burger. It is a burger stuffed with swiss cheese and mushrooms, and topped with grilled onions, bacon, and more swiss! The burgers here are towering with ingredients and are always full of flavor!
In addition to their burger of the week special during Restaurant Week, they are also offering a special on their double cheeseburger. Both deals come with a side of handcut fries and a choice of a signature moscow mule, tap beer, house bloody mary, garage old fashioned or a soft drink. The Garage is offering the Restaurant Week deals all day, but these are for dine-in only.

Dinner at The Apis
The Apis is the perfect place for a date night dinner in Kenosha! Located at 614 56th Street, this is the perfect fine dining experience in our downtown area. This was my first visit to the Apis and immediately when I walked in, I was transported into a fine dining experience. The decor and ambiance gave me that downtown big city feeling. To have this feeling in our local area is a treat and it made for the perfect date night setting without having to drive 30 minutes to Milwaukee. The menu has so many different options – including pizzetas, pastas, and steaks – that it has something for everyone.
They had several different menu items that sounded appetizing, it was hard to decide what to order. I ordered several things from their menu; fried calamari, meatballs, a calabrese pizzetta, and the dark chocolate sea salt cookies. Service was excellent, and the food was spectacular. The meatballs were one of my favorite dishes of the night and I highly recommend them. The meatballs were moist with the sauce being robust and fresh. The parmesan cheese on top made it the perfect bite.
Although the fried calamari is not one of the featured Restaurant Week specials, I also would recommend this! The calamari was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of batter and the calabrian chili aioli was the perfect dip for the calamari.
The calabrese pizzeta was topped with hot salame, mozzarella, arugula, and pomodoro sauce. From where we were sitting you could see the pizzeta going in the oven and it had the perfect cook. The dough was fresh as well as the toppings. I would order this again, but I also look forward to trying their spinach and artichoke pizzeta.
For dessert, I ordered the dark chocolate and sea salt cookies. The two cookies came out warm with the chocolate pieces melted and the right amount of sea salt to balance the sweet and salty! Next time I will be getting the gelato on top to make them even better! These cookies were a great ending to the night.
The Apis is offering several different Restaurant Week deals, including $10 off all steaks and chops, $5 off all pastas, and all bottles of wine are half price! One of my Restaurant Week nights will definitely be spent coming back to the Apis!

With the four Grease & Honey restaurants you could plan an entire day to visit all of them or visit them on different days. Kenosha Restaurant Week runs from February 21-March 1, make sure to check out the menus at VisitKenosha.com/RW for each one of the restaurants to view their specials for the week.
