Beaches, Pools & Splash Pads
Lake Michigan is one of Kenosha’s most popular attractions! Nearly 90 percent of our Lake Michigan shoreline is publicly accessible, with beaches, parks, biking and walking paths, a sculpture walk, lighthouses, and festival places welcoming you.
Water activities can be enjoyed away from our Great Lake as well.
Beaches
Safety Around Water Information>
The City of Kenosha has five beaches along Lake Michigan (with free admission and free parking):
- Alford Park and Beach
- Eichelman Park and Beach
- Pennoyer Park and Beach
- Simmons Island Park and Beach
- Southport Park and Beach
Did you know that Simmons Island Beach is accessible to people of all abilities, with the addition of portable mobility mats on the sand in the summer months? The mats are designed to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. Parks department staff install the mats daily after the beach is groomed in the morning and roll them up each evening for storage.
Beaches can also be found at inland lakes in Kenosha County. Locations include Lance Park, Old Settlers Park, Prairie Springs Park, Richard Bong State Recreation Area, Silver Lake Park, and more. In addition to great areas for swimming and splashing, areas for beach volleyball, boat launches, and waterski shows can be found in Kenosha County.
Outdoor Swimming Pools
There are outdoor swimming pools in two city parks:
- Anderson Park
- Washington Park
