Come hungry and return home content after a sweet overnight getaway to the Kenosha Area!
Please Be Seated and Dig In:

Soon’s Sushi Café - You’ll find authentic Sushi, Korean and Japanese cuisine at this award-winning restaurant. If you’ve never tried sushi, a California Roll, or an AAC (Asparagus, Avocado & Cucumber) Roll are suggested starters.

More ethnic cuisine! Try House of Gerhard for authentic German cuisine and American favorites, and Casa Capri and Tuscany Bistro Bar & Grill for fine Italian dining.

Franks Diner - You can’t visit Kenosha without eating at the oldest continuously operating lunch car diner in the U.S. You may know the diner from Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." Follow in the footsteps of local college students and accept the Red Man Challenge: consume nearly 6 pounds of food (including a full Garbage Plate) in 45 minutes!

Two more diners to try out: The Coffee Pot, a quirky Downtown Kenosha diner where you can have “The Godfather”, an omelet which includes Italian Sausage, garlic, tomato, mozzarella, and Italian seasoning. And here’s how the Chicago Foodie Sisters blog describes Bristol 45 Diner: “It was a wonderful dose of nostalgia with fabulous food and snazzy decor. It's a fun experience that transports you to another time.”

More nostalgic dining! Kenosha has a classic Wisconsin supper club: HobNob Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge. We also have a pair of drive-ins where car hops serve you at your car like it’s the 1950’s: Big Star Drive-In (open March 1-August 31) and The Spot Drive-In (open year round).

Snacks & Take-Home Treats:

Jelly Belly Visitor Center - Shop for sweet treats and souvenirs in the huge candy store. Besides oodles of Jelly Belly jelly bean flavors, you’ll find gummies, candy corn, malt balls, and more candy. Visit the free sample bars for Jelly Belly jelly beans and fudge (that’s made on site!). If you have time, take the free train tour.

Elsie Mae's Bakery & Cannery - Featuring freshly baked pies, 100+ varieties of jam, freshly canned preserves and relishes, drink mixes, and specialty potpies! Stop a few blocks away at Robin's Nest Cakery for more sweet treats!

Scoops Ice Cream and Sandy’s Popper in Downtown Kenosha. Scoops! offers plenty of vegan, nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free ice cream options! In addition to fresh gourmet popcorn products and its own nostalgic candy, Sandy’s Popper serves Premium Cedar Crest ice cream.

Tenuta's Delicatessen and Liquors - Shop at the finest Italian deli this side of Italy! Prepared foods, specialty groceries, an outdoor grill and more are here.

Kenosha HarborMarket - It’s open 52 Saturdays a year! Here’s how The Working Mom’s Travels blog described the market:  “I’ve been to my fair share of farmer’s markets around the Midwest, but this one takes the cake! It was like the United Nations of food”. Chef demonstrations can be enjoyed during the summer months.

Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets carries such specialty food stores as Ghirardelli Chocolate and Pepperidge Farm.

The Cheese Mart at Brat Stop carries over 100 different cheeses, all from Wisconsin. The mart also includes brats, beer, wine, liquor, sausage, bacon, a deli counter, and a large gift selection with Cheesehead hats as well as Bears and Packers merchandise. And a visit to Mars Cheese Castle is a given!

Food/Beverage Experiences:

Plan ahead and time your visit right, and you could attend a cooking class at a local museum or shop.

Tour a local craft brewery.

Enjoy a wine tasting on the second Saturday of each month at Sazzy B.

Catch your own lunch! Fish with the Kenosha Charter Boat Association, then have your fresh catch prepared for you at Boat House Pub & Eatery.

Annual Events Foodies Will Love:

  • Downtown Kenosha Restaurant Week – February
  • Dairy State Cheese & Beer Festival – Spring
  • Kenosha County Dairy Breakfast – June
  • Taste of Wisconsin™ – July
