St. Patrick's Day Kenosha WI

Top o’ the Morning  to my Irish folk! Even this Polish/Italian girl is Irish on St. Paddy’s Day.  If you are looking for some local Irish fun or Irish eats this St. Patrick’s Day weekend, here are a few activities happening in the Kenosha Area!

It’s no secret that Ashling on the Lough is the St. Patrick’s Day headquarters, being Kenosha’s only authentic Irish pub. Stop in for delicious Corned Beef and Cabbage, a Shepherd’s Pie, or even their traditional Fish and Chips! Anything on the menu will get you in the Irish spirit.  On March 17th, they will be offering a traditional Irish breakfast from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. with Irish Dancers and Celtic music to accompany the feast. Transitioning to the afternoon,  their always tasty dinner menu will be available with more Irish music and plenty of Guinness – “served the right way!”  Come join us for a pint or two!

A sure sign of spring, St. Patrick’s Weekend marks the unofficial opening of the Petrifying Springs Biergarten! They will be open for two days – March 15 and 16 - to partake in the festivities of St. Patrick’s Day. Large heated tents with plenty of seating inside, along with the cozy fire pits at the Biergarten, will keep event attendees toasty warm if the weather is cool. Friday night will feature music and merriment. Saturday the Biergarten opens at 9 a.m., and features the Leprechaun and Lederhosen .1K Beer Run at 10 am.  There is no better way to start the day than with a quick “run” followed by some green beer.  Live music Saturday at  11:30 a.m. and continues until the venue closes  Saturday night.

Enjoy a FREE concert at Carthage College on March 17th at 12:30 p.m. in Siebert Chapel.  “Myths and Legends” will be presented by the Carthage Wind Orchestra and Concert Band highlighting some of Irelands famous sounds and songs. This event is family friendly and open to the public.

One of my favorites is the Kenosha Area  Pipes and Drums Association.  They will be on the move all weekend. For a complete lineup of their performance times click here. Check them out at a few of our favorite venues:
Saturday March 16th
Petrifying Springs Biergarten at 12:30 p.m.
Pete’s Union Park Tavern at 4:15 p.m.
Mason’s at 5:00 p.m.
Spanky’s Bar and Grill at 9:15 p.m.
Sunday March 17th
Mike’s Chicken and Donuts at 1:15 p.m.
Kenosha Yacht Club & Kenosha Community Sailing Center at 3:30 p.m.
The Boat House Pub and Eatery at 4:15 p.m.
Kaiser’s at 5:00 p.m.
Circa on Seventh at 7:00 p.m.

If you're looking to be crafty as a family or even a fun date night that doesn't involve corned beer or green beer - Alpaca Art has a great option for you. Enjoy 25% their ready-to-paint Shamrock mugs and plates through St. Patrick's Day. Paint your own mug of gold!

Many Kenosha Area restaurants will be featuring Corned Beef and Cabbage specials, shamrock shakes or pies, and other specials with nods to all things Irish. So put on your favorite green shirt and join in the fun! Sláinte!
