Who doesn’t want to be considered a great host/hostess when people visit you from out of town!? YOU will be THEE COOLEST by knowing some great LOCAL FAIRS & FESTIVALS to attend this SUMMER!  Or how about just looking to get outside for some great activities for the KIDS, or hanging with a FRIEND, or going SOLO and meeting some new people?

There is an extravaganza of festivals & fairs to choose from for the summer that I am calling: FESTIVALPALOOZA! Just think of the tales & adventures you can share after attending one or if you dare, all of them! I put together a list of 12 fun Festivals/Fairs that are happening now through Labor Day from our Kenosha Area 2018 Visitors Guide:  

1) Jelly Belly Carnival | June 28, 2018 - July 1, 2018
Enjoy rides for the whole family and other activities. The indoor, interactive Jelly Belly Train Tour experience is free. There is a cost for tickets for Carnival rides.

2) Libertyfest | June 29, 2018 – June 30, 2018
Enjoy fun for all ages! Admission is free, including Aquanut Water Show.

3) Bristol Renaissance Faire | Saturdays and Sundays plus Labor Day, July 7- September 3, 2018
Taking its framework from a summer day in 1574 when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth visited the English hamlet of Bristol, the Bristol Renaissance Faire is open for nine weekends of the summer. Step back in time to days of brave knights, fair maidens, jesters, and more! There is plenty to see and do for the whole family, from rides and theatrical performances, to spirits and a variety of food. 

4) Bristol Progress Days | July 13, 2018 - July 15, 2018
For three days in July, Bristol in Western Kenosha County becomes the site of good old family fun. Admission is free. Whether it’s sports tournaments, carnival fun, kids’ activities, music, history or the parade famous for the candy rained down on its spectators, Bristol Progress Days has something for everyone. Don’t miss the awesome fireworks on Sunday at sundown!

5) Country Thunder Music Festival | July 19, 2018 - July 22, 2018
This is a country music fan's dream! The 2018 lineup includes Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Dierks Bentley, and Sam Hunt, plus many more! You can even camp on the grounds so the fun doesn't have to stop. 

6) Tribute Island Music Festival | July 20, 2018 – July 22, 2018
The event features the most celebrated tribute acts from across the Midwest playing a wide variety of the most popular music of the last half century. It all takes place at Simmons Island on Kenosha’s beautiful lakefront.

7) Taste of Wisconsin™ | July 27, 2018 - July 29, 2018
This family-friendly celebration of all things tasteful takes place along the Lake Michigan shore. Admission is free. Enjoy foods from all over Wisconsin, including cheese, sweet corn, ice cream, and more!

8) Pike River Rendezvous | August 4, 2018 - August 5, 2018
The Colonial through Western Fur Trade era of the 1650s through 1850s will come alive on Simmons Island. Featuring more than 300 reenactors, craft and trade demos, music, and games for the whole family.

9) Sweet Corn FestAugust 11, 2018 - August 12, 2018
Enjoy a fun-filled time at Jerry Smith Produce & Pumpkin Farm! There is an admission fee. Featuring family activities, chef demonstrations, vendor booths, concessions, and fresh produce.

10) Kenosha County Fair | August 15, 2018 – August 19, 2018
A five-day celebration featuring family entertainment and grandstand entertainment each evening. The theme is: See “ewe” at the Fair!

11) Bands, Brews, & BBQ | August 24, 2018 – August 26, 2018
Formerly known as Grill Games, Happenings Magazine has revamped this event and moved it to a new location. What won’t change is the great food, cold beers, and rocking bands. Pennoyer Park overlooks Lake Michigan and includes a beach. Admission is free. Let the games begin!

12) Cheese-A-Palooza | September 1, 2018 – September 2, 2018
All things cheese will be celebrated during the two-day Cheese-A-Palooza festival along the harbor. Wisconsin is known worldwide for its dairy production, and this year, Happenings Magazine and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board are once again teaming up to create an event celebrating our great state’s tastiest product - cheese! Featuring multiple stages of live entertainment, food eating contests, food vendors, family friendly activities, and more.
