-Last Day of 2024 Season is September 2-

One of the many great things about being a Kenosha resident is that we are so close to the Bristol Renaissance Faire.  Even better is that this isn’t just any Ren Faire event - ours has been voted the BEST for nine years in row. Truly a testament to its immersive and unique experience for festival goers.

My family of four ranges from age 11 to 40 years, and we all stayed busy all day long when we attended this summer! From zip lining, steel forging, and checking out aerial performers in a real-life fairy garden, to watching a comedy performance all based on MUD! You can’t forget about Vegetable Justice, either. IYKYK, and if you don’t, I strongly suggest a visit to the Faire.

Everyone in our family was able to find areas that piqued each of our interests. Likewise, we were able to find foods that satisfied our cravings, too. There is no shortage of food options! We ate delicious loaded baked potatoes, chowed down on turkey legs, and snacked on some teriyaki beef jerky that was to die for. My absolute favorite part of the outing though was my bowl of mushrooms in a savory garlic broth! (You can even get it in a quart to take home!!!)

There are just a few weekends left to enjoy the 2024 Faire Season. Don’t miss out on the fun. This Kenosha Family highly recommends getting into the spirit of the renaissance by dressing the part, too. There is zero judgement, and it will make your time there really come to life! (There are photos of my peasant husband with his walking stick and me with my fairy flower stick!)

Top Four from my Family of Four

  1. Turkey Legs and Mushrooms – hands down a must for first timers.

  2. Sturdy Beggers Mud Show – it’s endless laughs at the mud pit!

  3. Steel Forging – be sure to check out the craftsmen at the Steel Forging area. You realize how long this artform has been in practice and how incredible the work really is.

  4. Dressing Up – even if you buy a flower crown while at the Faire, embrace the period attire and the magic!

Enjoy!!
