Thanksgiving To-Go

We're Ready When You Are

Thanksgiving is looking very different for many people this year. If it’s just your household, you may not be wanting to do the usual large, fancy dinner. Or maybe you are like me, and you’re not the one who normally even does the cooking! I have good news: many locally owned restaurants are coming to your rescue!  I recommend you check with your favorite ones to see if they are offering something to go. Remember, you’ll need to place your orders ahead of time.

Here are a few of the ones I know about:

The 1844 Table & Mash at the Stella Hotel & Ballroom is offering a Thanksgiving family meal to-go, which feeds 4-6 people. The meal includes: Herb Roasted Turkey, Giblet Gravy, Cranberry Relish, Harvest Salad, Garlic Whipped Potatoes, Sage and Garlic Stuffing, Stella’s Green Bean Casserole, Asiago Parker House Rolls, and Choice of Chocolate Pecan or Pumpkin Pie. Call (262) 842-2000 to place your order. All orders must be placed by 9 p.m. Saturday, November 21. Pick up is on Wednesday, November 25 between 3 and 8 p.m.

Orders for Thanksgiving Take & Heat Meals from Twisted Cuisine are also due Saturday, November 21. They make individual servings with generous portions so everyone gets what they want on their plate! You choose turkey, ham, or meatloaf. And you choose 3 sides from a list of options, and your pick of pumpkin pie or banana cream pie. Call (262) 564-0220 to place your order.

Sazzy B is offering what they call The Side Hustle. You take care of the main course, they’ll back you up with the extras. They’re preparing the side dishes everyone loves, with some extra Sazzy flair so all you have to do is heat them up and serve. The take-and-bake side dishes serve 4-6 people, and some also have an 8-12 people option. Options include Home-Made Stuffing, 3 Cheese Mac, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Brussels and Bacon, and many more. Beverages also are available including cocktail kits. You can order online.

Century Pub & Eatery in Downtown Kenosha will be serving a Traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner! The meal includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, corn, green bean casserole, homemade cranberry sauce, dinner roll, and pumpkin pie. Reservations are requested for dine-in or carry-out by calling (262) 764-6501.

Brat Stop and Union Park Tavern are open every day of the year – so they are open on Thanksgiving. Union Park Tavern will be serving Thanksgiving Dinner with all the fixin’s for limited indoor seating, curbside pick-up, and carryout from 11 a.m. until gone. Reservations are encouraged: (262) 652-6454.

So there you have it. A sampling of ideas. Go ahead, get out the fancy linens and glasses. Turn the football game on. Pretend like it’s normal and not 2020! Just don’t do all the cooking yourself!
