Santa Sightings in Kenosha, WI

You better watch out, and you better not cry or pout.  Why?  Santa Claus is coming to Kenosha!  I have the official, top secret schedule for when he will be in town so please plan accordingly.  Here’s Santa’s confidential Kenosha schedule at a glance:

  • Friday, December 6 at 5:30pm: Village Tree Lighting at St. John’s Community Center in Twin Lakes (701 N Lake Avenue, Twin Lakes)
  • Saturday, December 7 from 8am to 12pm: Breakfast with Santa at the Kenosha Masonic Center and from 1-3pm at Jelly Belly (115 56th Street, Kenosha)
  • Sunday, December 8 from 8am to 12pm: Breakfast with Santa at the Kenosha Masonic Center (115 56th Street, Kenosha) and from 1-4pm at the Kenosha HarborHoliday - International Market inside the Kenosha Public Museum (5500 1st Avenue)
  • Thursday, December 19 and Friday December 20: Ski and Dine with Santa at Wilmot Mountain (11931 Fox River Road, Wilmot)

Now don’t tell Santa I told you, but here’s all the classified details of his very secret schedule:

  1. Stop by the Village Tree Lighting at St. John’s Community Center in Twin Lakes on Friday, December 6 at about 5:30pm to see Santa’s first Kenosha appearance as he lights the Tree!  The Boy Scouts will be there selling cookies (perfect for Santa when he stops by your house) and hot chocolate too.  Don’t miss the train set up and you can even make a donation of $1.00 or more for the Twin Lakes Food Pantry and The Sharing Center to get a ribbon to write your Christmas Wish on - maybe Kris Kringle will happen to see it.  I hope you’ve been nice!
  2. The Kenosha Masonic Center will be welcoming Saint Nick on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 from 8am to 12pm each day.  Enjoy Breakfast with Santa with All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes ($9 for adults, $5 for Kids Ages 4-10 and Free for Kids 3 and under).  There will also be Santa-approved cookies for sale for $8 per pound.
  3. Saint Nicholas can be spotted at Jelly Belly on Saturday, December 7 from 1-3pm.  Meet the man in red and bring home a 4x6 photo to remember the big moment!  You can also take the train tour, get free samples, get your face painted and get some balloon art made.  Oh!  And I hear that Santa does like some variety while he is filling millions of stockings on Christmas Day, so consider leaving some Jelly Belly jelly beans this year next to the tree; they pair nicely with milk!
  4. Always a popular event, come to the Kenosha HarborHoliday - International Market and Festival on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 from 10am to 4pm to write your letter to Santa with the help of Mrs. Claus.  And if you missed him at Jelly Belly, go straight to the source and visit with Father Christmas on Sunday from 1-4pm - remember, he knows if you’ve been bad or good! Be sure to visit the Hot Cocoa Bars! There will be two to choose from – one located in the lobby of the Kenosha Public Museum and one near the main stage outdoors. The Hot Cocoa Bar is Sponsored by Lou Perrine’s Gas & Grocery and Mama P’s HoHo Cake! HoHo Cakes will also be available for purchase in the lobby at the Kenosha Public Museum – they pair perfectly with Hot Cocoa and come highly recommended by Santa himself!  Not a bad alternative to cookies for Santa’s treat when he comes down the chimney!
  5. Finally, how about something out of the ordinary - Skiing with Santa!  Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves will be at Wilmot Mountain on Thursday, December 19 and Friday, December 20 from 3-8pm each day.  You can ski with them from 3-5pm and grab a bite to eat with them from 5:30 to 7pm at Santa’s favorite restaurant, Walt’s Tavern.  Santa will be treating YOU with cookies this time you can even snap a picture with him until 8pm that night at the photo booth.

Off the record, Santa always enjoys a good cookie on Christmas, but please don’t feel that you need to stick to tradition.  He has been spotted forking down some pie at Elsie Mae’s Bakery & Cannery, devouring cupcakes and muffins at Robin’s Nest Cakery and crunching on popcorn from Sandy’s Popper - he loves when you shop local, and it's a fact that you'll extra points on the NICE LIST if you do.

So don’t forget that he’s sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, and you know that he knows when you’ve been bad or good, so for goodness sake, please don’t tell him I sent you.  But in all seriousness, when you Visit Kenosha and Visit Santa this December, be sure to watch out, not cry and pout, and have a holly jolly good time!
