Kenosha Sculpture Walk at HarborPark

Hi there! Blake here! I'm back in school, the weather is starting to cool down, and there is a brand new set of art at our lakefront. Take a stroll along the Sculpture Walk! My mom and I decided to check out the new sculptures at HarborPark that went in this past week. Together we counted the 11 new sculptures, along with the 4 permanent works. This new batch have a very whimsical feel, and are really lively and full of imagination. Even when the weatehr gets cold, you can enjoy a ride on the streetcar for an excellent viewing option to stay warm and still see the artwork!

The 11 new sculptures along the walk are:

1.Twist by Michael Young of Chicago

2. Flambay by Ted Garner of Chicago

3. Magic by John Adduci of Chicago

4. Xuberant! by Craig Snyder of Plymouth, Minnesota

5. Both Sides by Maureen Gray of Interlochen, Michigan

6. Newly Discovered by Trenton Baylor of Caledonia

7. Moose by Paul Bobrowitz of Colgate

8. Here by Ruth Aizuss Midgal of Chicago

9. Celestial Trio by Bruce Niemi of Kenosha

10. On Balance by Paul Bobrowitz of Colgate

11. Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial by Bruce Niemi of Kenosha

We are lucky enough to have incredible artwork on display in Kenosha forever, too. These pieces do not rotate out every like the others. The four permanent sculptures are:

  • David Floyd’s Millennium Gate
  • Dan Blue’s S.S. Kenosha
  • Michael Martino’s Christopher Columbus
  • Frank Colicki’s Lone Soldier Memorial

The HarborPark promenade which runs along 54th Street will be home for these new 11 pieces for the next two years before the next rotation arrives - so be sure to enjoy these fun works of art while they are here!
