Ice Cream Treats in Kenosha WI

Nothing is better on a hot summer day than some ice cold ice cream. Luckily, my hometown has so many delicious options to choose from. Some of my favorites include locally owned shops that offer special creations. I’m going to tell you about my top three favorite ice cream shops and what I love most about them.

  1. Sandy’s Popper - I love going for ice team at Sandy’s Popper! Not only do they have delicious ice cream, but they also have delicious popcorn (my moms favorite snack) and a big, big assortment of fun candy, too! Sandy’s serves Cedar Crest ice cream, which is made right here in Wisconsin. My favorite flavor is Superman because it’s so colorful. They also have malts, shakes, and sundaes if you want something a little more than just a scoop or two. The best part about Sandy’s Popper is that it’s really close to my house and near the museums so we can go there a lot!
  2. Scoops Ice Cream & Candy - They have such a wide variety of Chocolate Shoppe ice cream sometimes it’s so hard to choose my favorite flavor! Some of the flavors have fun names like Sticks & Stones, This $&@! Just Got Serious, And Yippee Skippee! I always get my scoop on a white chocolate dipped cone, but they have so many cone options to choose from – many are made by hand in the shop. They also offer different candies, pies, and cakes you can enjoy! And they eve have special frozen doggy treats! There are dairy free frozen treats at Scoops, too, in case you need an alternative option.
  3. Bristol 45 Diner - I don’t know what a 45 record is, but my mom says it’s what people listened to before iTunes and Spotify. I really like the old fashioned decorations at this restaurant – it’s like when Elvis was alive! They have the BEST milkshakes and malts. Plus, they have a giant cooler filled with pies that you can get with a scoop of ice cream, too! It reminds me over the movie Grease. The shakes and malts come in tall glasses – they are so thick and creamy!

There is no shortage of ice cream in Kenosha, whether I’m just grabbing some frozen custard from Culver’s in Pleasant Prairie after shopping at Premium Outlets, or stopping by The Spot Drive-In or Big Star Drive-In for a Root Beer Float! Even lunch spots like Jack Andrea and Grab’s Burger Bar have ice cream treats. My parents like the grownup ice cream drinks at Hobnob and House of Gerhard, too, but I can’t have those because they have alcohol! So, you see, there is something for everyone when it comes to ice cream here. We all can scream for ice cream.
