Somehow I missed the memo, don’t worry, I’ll share it with you:

GO TO A KINGFISH GAME; IT IS SO MUCH FUN!

The Kenosha Kingfish offer family-friendly entertainment with a colligate baseball team at the center of the fun! Honestly, what an absolute "hidden" gem here in Kenosha. You can buy tickets online or in person, parking is a breeze, and there are a lot of great features to the ballpark. Beer is cheap and you can get tacos! They’ve got an ice cream stand and a whole activity area for kids. There is even a party boat you can rent out in left field for events. What more could you want?

We had the chance to go to Opening Night earlier this summer, it was a little chilly but the giveaway was a blanket so we totally lucked out. The Kingfish do fun giveaways all season, and the promotion calendar is easy to find on their website. There is a entertaining game or show between each inning; our family laughed all night long. The announcer is funny and quick on his feet, the music selection keeps everyone excited. We live close enough that we can see the occasional home game fireworks from our house, but I’m excited to see them from the ballpark this season! I cannot believe it took me this long to go to a game, but now I am already planning our next visit!

Midwestern kindness is deeply embedded into Kenosha culture and that holds true at Kingfish games: the staff was delightful! Baseball has a long history in Kenosha, with several minor and recreation league teams playing at Historic Simmons Field before the Kingfish came to town. A popular team you might remember was the Kenosha Comets – the All American Girls Professional Baseball team. (You know, they played the Rockford Peaches in the movie A League of their Own!)

Toddler Notice: Seats in sections 101-103 are very close to all the kids’ activities and the opposing team bullpen. Lots of great things to keep your eyes and ears busy all game long. If you have littles this is where you want to be! There is no crying in baseball here – just plenty of family fun!

Check out the remainder of the 2019 schedule here. Hope to see you at the ballpark!
