Progress has continued in Kenosha this year, despite being in the midst of a global health pandemic. New shops, restaurants, event venues, and other activities have debuted. Whether you are discovering our community for the first time, or live here and are rediscovering it, here are some of the new places to explore:

The dining venue at The Apis Hotel & Restaurant opened in Downtown Kenosha – complete with a rooftop deck. Led by Executive Chef Danielle Weybright, the focus is on fresh ingredients and shareable plates. Its sister restaurants are Buzz Café, Sazzy B, and The Garage, of the Grease & Honey Restaurant Group.

The Down Town’R Saloon also opened in Downtown Kenosha. The restaurant features Southwest cuisine, craft cocktails, and a rooftop bar. Its sister restaurant is Kaiser’s Pizza & Pub.

The new El Camino Kitchen is located off of Highway 50. The restaurant offers a SoCal menu with Mexican favorites, gourmet burgers, wings, rice bowls, margaritas, craft beer, and more. Its sister restaurants are La Fogata Mexican Grill and Waterfront Warehouse, under the Roots Hospitality Group.

A local franchise of Beef Jerky Experience has opened at Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets. You can explore over 100 varieties of hand-crafted jerky!

2020 was the first summer that the Kenosha Community Sailing Center (located at the Kenosha Yacht Club) offered kayak, fishing kayak, and stand up paddle board rentals. The rentals, as well as the sailing center's sailing lessons, will return in the summer of 2021.

Upper East has opened on the second floor of the former Barden’s building at the corner of Seventh Avenue and 58th Street. This is an urban wedding and events venue owned by Culinary Infusion, Inc., which also operates Circa on Seventh.

PUBLIC Craft Brewing Co. relocated to the first floor of the former Barden’s building. The larger space allows the craft brewery to operate a restaurant and have five times the brewing capacity.

The new Kenosha Public Market debuted. You can shop in person year-round on Saturdays or via the KPM2GO Online Store. (Indoors during colder months.)
