Silver Lake Park - fat tire biking

Cyclist or not, it is impossible to ignore the natural beauty that awaits bike riders in the Kenosha Area. From paved routes to off-road trails, there is a path that is right for your bike and skill level.

Fat Tire Bikes

Fatty riders will love Silver Lake Park. This park offers 10 miles of off-road trails that are great year-round. In the winter, this trail is machine and snow-shoe groomed, for optimal riding. Also check out Kenosha’s five Lake Michigan beaches for a breathtaking view and rigorous ride on a fat tire bike.

Adventure Bikes

If you’re looking for more than just a smoothly paved street or track to explore, the Kenosha County Bike Trail is a great option. With sections of paved road and portions of off-road riding, there are enough options and branches to build your own adventure. Also check out the multi-use trails at Petrifying Springs Park.

Gravel Grinder

If a nice ride along the lake is what you’re in search of, without much off-roading challenge, the Pike Bike Trail is a beautiful option. Cruise on paved routes where you will enjoy 10 miles of sight-seeing, including one Great Lake, two lighthouses, three historic districts, and more! If you’re feeling competitive, check out the weeknight races at the Washington Park Velodrome or take a spin around the track for fun.

Velodrome Highlight

Kenosha is home to the nation’s oldest operating velodrome — the Washington Park Velodrome, which opened in 1927. Recently restored, this track offers 333 meters of raceway with 28-degree banked corners. Racing at the track is open May through August, with races on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. The track is in a public park, and is open for visitors to enjoy when races are not in session. As cyclists work their way up the bank, this track requires speed and provides a great workout.
