Sisters Brenda Brady and Becky Sterba opened the business in 2007. For the first two years, the business was in Salem, in Kenosha County, before moving to Downtown Kenosha. The business came about when Brenda was studying interior design. For a course, she needed to design a business. This is what she created; the sisters had always done art prior to opening the business. The name came about as a result of an ongoing family joke to own an alpaca farm.
