Try this menu item: The Towering Turret Food Challenge - a massive burger challenge. THE MEAT: Twelve third pound burgers stacked up high on a bun. THE CHEESE: Twelve unique cheeses - each a different style from a  different origin. THE SIDES: A cup of sharp cheddar King of Clubs cheese spread, bowl of potato salad, and two pickle spears. THE DIFFICULTY: We start easy with cheese curds, Swiss, and brie...but watch out those stinky blues and strong beer cheeses might slow you down. Grab your tissues for the finale, pal. You have three of the hottest cheeses before you can say you've tackled the Turret. We end with a bang with our EXCLUSIVE ghost pepper cheese, The Martian Scorpion Pepper.  On top of that, a cup of King of Clubs sharp cheddar spread and a bowl of potato salad- Grandma's or American- your choice. THE PRIZES: If you can eat everything on your plate in under one hour, you will win a T-shirt, have your picture hung on the Wall of Fame, and get your meal free! *Please call 24 hours in advance before attempting the Towering Turret.*

In October of 1947 our founders, Mario and Martha Ventura opened a cheese shop in a renovated schoolhouse on a corner at the intersection of highways 41 and 43 in Kenosha County.

In the following years Mars Cheese Castle went through many changes. Destroyed by fire in 1957 the castle was rebuilt and thrived for the next five decades; becoming an iconic business on the very busy interstate between Chicago and Milwaukee. In 2011, due to highway expansion, Mars Cheese Castle had to relocate. Fortunately, we were able to remain near the same corner, and the old building was replaced by a new castle. The move was a huge undertaking and we had to adjust our business to fit the situation.

As always, we strive to maintain the highest quality and service our customers have come to expect over the past 67 years. As our founder Mario J. Ventura Sr. would say: "At Mars Cheese Castle, the customer is king!"

And speaking of Kings… the Food Network Sandwich King, Jeff Mauro, declared that Mars Cheese Castle's grilled cheese is one of his top-eight sandwiches in the country!
