Candlewood Suites in Kenosha is thanking local firefighters, law enforcement, first responders, and military personnel for their service by hosting a Hero’s Appreciation Event on Wednesday, May 24 at the hotel. Guests can stop by any time between 4 and 8 p.m. to enjoy complimentary grilled food, desserts, soda, and water.

This month long exhibit features the work of photographer Bob Schnack, metal-smith jewelry designer Vicki Ridgway and acrylic painter Melissa Pierson. The Brick Gallery located inside the Lemon Street Gallery will have expanded exhibit space for these artists.

Enjoy the adventures as seen through the lens of Bob Schnack and the original designs of metal-smith Vicki Ridgway. Melissa Pierson draws her inspiration from nature.

Join us on May 13 from 6 - 9 p.m. for the Second Saturday Artist Reception. Meet the artists and enjoy refreshments at the free event.

1st Annual Sports PT Speedgolf Outing

Shotgun Start at 4:30 p.m.

This is the first time SpeedGolf has ever been brought to Kenosha. Speedgolf aims to put a spin on traditional golfing by adding a whole new element of skill and fitness to the mix. It involves the same patience and precision, but you’re against the clock!

How to Play:

  • 18 holes (One team per hole)
  • At this event players will play in teams of two
  • One player will fully play through the hole while the other will score and record time (Only playtime from tee to hole should be recorded)
  • Players will alternate who scores and who plays
  • Running between strokes is great, but a fast walk is also encouraged
  • Times and scores will be combined for the final results

Early Bird Entry: $100 (Ends April 1st). Entry Fee: $125. Spectator and Dinner Entry: $75. Registration Deadline: May 8th, 2017.

Oneida Nation Dance Performances

Performances are slated for 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. (times subject to change)

The Oneida Nation dancers will be performing at Kenosha's I-94 Visitor Information Center to kick off the un-official start of summer Memorial Day weekend. The dancers will be joined by Jr Miss Oneida Kaylee Schuyler and Lil Miss Oneida Avery Nooyen.

The dancers and royalty along with their coordinator Rich Figueroa will be promoting the Oneida Tribe and its tourist destinations. Admission is free. The I-94 Visitor Information Center, staffed by the Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, is located at the southeast corner of I-94 and Hwy. 165.

Vehicle admission sticker is required: $8 per day for vehicles with Wisconsin plates (seniors $3) / $11 for vehicles with out-of-state plates. Annual state park admission sticker also available.
