Carthage hosts Family Fun Nights on most Friday evenings during the school year. Families can enjoy fun and educational activities in Hedberg Library, browse the collection in the Center for Children’s Literature, use the library computers, or use the N. E. Tarble Athletic & Recreation Center.

Free themed activities take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Hedberg Library. The N.E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center is available on most Family Fun Nights for a $1 donation to the Kenosha Boys & Girls Club (6 to 9 p.m.). Activities may vary. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 18 must have an adult directly supervising in the Semler Fitness Center.

THEMES:

  • February 10, 2017: Candyland! It’s Candyland in the library tonight! We've transformed the library into a huge game board, with various crafts and games along the path. Join us as we visit the Peppermint Forest and escape the Chocolate Swamp. NOTE: The TARC is not available for Family Fun Night this week due to Carthage athletic events.
  • February 17, 2017: Seussy Celebration. It's time for yet another Seuss-y Celebration. Join us as we commemorate the works of Dr. Seuss through games, crafts, and reading. Watch out for Thing 1 and Thing 2 as they aren't the best listeners!
  • February 24, 2017: Blast off. Join the Society of Physics Students during Family Fun night to learn all about what's the "matter" and don't forget to bring your "energy." This night is sure to be a blast!
  • March 3, 2017: Pi Celebration. The Carthage Math Club will be joining us to celebrate a very special number, Pi! We'll be having fun with numbers and using math in a way everyone can enjoy!
  • March 10, 2017: Creativity Festival. Lambda Kappa wants us to put on our thinking caps and channel our inner artists as we get crafty at the creativity festival! Along with plenty of crafts, there will be instruments, face painting, and more.
  • March 31, 2017: A Visit From the Zoo! Ever wonder why not all animals have two legs? Or why some don't have any at all? This week Family Fun Night welcomes back the Racine Zoo as we explore and discover different animals and why they're best fit for their habitat.
  • April 7, 2017: Around the World! It's time to get your passports ready because it's time to travel around the world together again, don't forget your little sibling as RLC is hosting Sibs weekend again! Join us for lots of fun games and crafts!
  • April 28, 2017: Game Night. Come join the Japanese Club as they teach everyone what makes Japan and Japanese culture cool. We will be having a great time making Japanese themed crafts and playing Japanese games! By the end of the night you will be ready for a real trip to Japan!
  • May 5, 2017: Musical Celebration. Do you love music? Have you ever wanted to try an instrument? Well, you're in luck! For our last Family Fun Night, the American String Teachers Association at Carthage will be bringing their instruments for you to try!
